Ross uses AI to develop human-aware systems for intelligent vehicles, virtual classrooms, and concert halls. He works at two labs: the Laboratory for Safe & Intelligent Vehicles, and the Center for Research in Entertainment & Learning. His research focuses on predicting vehicle trajectories, assessing driver readiness, interpreting human gaze and gestures during live performances, and using AI to teach computers music composition. His ultimate goal is to foster human-AI co-creativity.
